Floor robots · 8 minute check
Measure before choosing a robot vacuum
Suction figures do not tell you whether a robot will clear your furniture, cross a transition or leave enough room around its dock. Start with the home, then compare features.

The answer in 60 seconds
The best robot is the one that clears the lowest furniture, crosses every required threshold and can be serviced where its dock will actually sit.
Good fit when
Homes whose clearances, thresholds, carpet rules and dock space have been measured before comparing models.
Poor fit when
A purchase based on suction alone, without checking height, wet-mop behaviour or replacement-part identity.
Canadian reality
Confirm the Canadian model number and warranty; a familiar product name can hide a different regional bundle or accessory set.
Decision checklist
Five checks to complete before shopping
- Measure the lowest furniture clearance in millimetres and compare it with the robot’s full height.
- Measure ordinary thresholds separately from double-layer transitions; marketing maximums are not interchangeable.
- Reserve floor, side and overhead clearance for the dock, including lid and tank access.
- List carpets that must stay dry and confirm the numeric mop-lift or mop-removal behaviour.
- Decide whether an RGB camera is acceptable before evaluating obstacle-avoidance claims.
Use the evidence
Turn measurements into a defensible shortlist
Record
Write down the real environment and the exact task before looking at brands.
Eliminate
Remove every model that fails a hard size, surface, safety or power constraint.
Verify
Match the exact Canadian model identifier with official evidence; a similar name is not enough.
Compare
Only then compare convenience, maintenance, privacy, support and ownership cost.
Read product evidence correctly
Four sources, four different jobs
RoboStead does not blend specifications, outside tests, owner reports and Canadian availability into one vague score.
Use it for dimensions, limits, required accessories, safety and exact identity.
Use them for observed performance only when the exact model and method are stated.
Use repeated themes to spot long-term friction; do not treat one complaint as a measured failure rate.
Use them for the seller, warranty, parts, power, currency, shipping and winter reality.
Shortlist tool
Enter your measurements before comparing brands
This check uses published height and ordinary-threshold figures for three exact Canadian models. The full Finder then checks carpets, camera, dock and budget.

Official videos that make the differences visible
These manufacturer-published videos show the exact reviewed models. They are visual examples, not paid rankings; check the guide’s constraints before choosing.
Roborock Saros 10R (S91COP)
The Roborock Saros 10R (S91COP) is a 79.8 mm ultra-thin robot vacuum and mop with 3D navigation, an RGB camera, a liftable chassis and a multifunction dock.
eufy E28 (T2352)
The eufy E28 (T2352) is a robot vacuum and mop with an Omni station and a detachable portable deep cleaner.
SwitchBot S20 (810150543414)
The SwitchBot S20 combines vacuuming, mopping and an automated maintenance station. The Canadian base package is identified by SKU 810150543414; the auto-fill and drain bundle is a separate configuration.
Models to examine next
Three concrete starting points for your decision
These are not automatic winners. They are reviewed Canadian models with a clear use case, a known limitation and a direct next step. Use the Finder when measurements can change the answer.
Roborock Qrevo Edge
Roborock Qrevo Edge is an exact robot vacuum and mop. Official evidence lists suction at 18,500 Pa and dock dimensions at 340 × 487 × 521 mm.
Use the verified suction and dock dimensions as selection boundaries. Any field still listed below remains unknown.
Measure the rectangular dock space, including access for tanks and routine maintenance.
Roborock Qrevo Curv
Roborock Qrevo Curv is an exact robot vacuum and mop. Official evidence lists suction at 18,500 Pa and threshold at Up to 40 mm, qualified double-layer.
Use the verified suction and threshold as selection boundaries. Any field still listed below remains unknown.
Measure the full 450 mm square dock footprint and leave room to service it.
Roborock Q7 L5
The Roborock Q7 L5 is a compact robot vacuum and mop with 8,000 Pa suction, LiDAR mapping and a 270 ml electronic water tank. Its exact Amazon.ca listing is verified separately by ASIN.
Informational fit for homes seeking LiDAR-guided daily vacuuming and light maintenance mopping without a large self-emptying or mop-washing station.
Measure approximately 99 mm of robot height against every low-clearance area before ordering.
Retailer commission never changes which models appear or their order.
Complete decision guide
The details that change the right choice
Use these details to test the choice against your own measurements, routine and non-negotiable constraints.
Furniture clearance: measure the bottleneck
Measure the lowest rigid point, not the average opening. Keep a small real-world margin for rugs, uneven floors and furniture sag; a robot exactly as tall as the opening is not a dependable fit.
Thresholds: ordinary and double-layer figures differ
Use the height of each ordinary transition for the first check. A larger two-stage maximum describes a different geometry and must not replace the ordinary-threshold value.
Carpets: detection is not the same as protection
For a carpet that must stay dry, verify the exact mop behaviour: numeric lift, pad removal, avoidance or a no-mop zone. Automatic carpet detection alone does not state how the wet hardware is handled.
The dock needs service space, not just floor space
Check width and depth, then add the clearance needed to open lids, remove tanks, replace a dust bag and route power or plumbing. A dock that physically fits but cannot be serviced is not a practical fit.
Camera and obstacle avoidance change the privacy choice
Confirm whether the exact model uses an RGB camera, non-image sensors or both, and whether core cleaning can continue without cloud features. Better object recognition is a trade-off to evaluate, not a universal advantage.
Common Canadian questions
Questions to settle before making the choice
How much extra clearance should I leave under furniture?
Do not choose a robot whose published height exactly equals the opening. Leave a practical margin for rugs, floor variation and measurement error.
Is carpet detection enough to keep rugs dry?
No. Verify the exact model's mop lift, automatic pad removal, carpet avoidance or no-mop zones.
Does a higher suction number guarantee better cleaning?
No. Brush design, floor type, hair handling, navigation and maintenance also affect the result, and suction figures are not always measured comparably.

Fail-closed warnings
Two mistakes that can invalidate the choice
- Do not treat a same-name regional variant as the reviewed Canadian model.
- Do not assume replacement bags, filters or brushes fit without an exact part identifier.

Verify the exact product behind the retailer button
Confirm the model identifier, condition, seller, Canadian warranty, included accessories and return terms on the retailer page. RoboStead does not copy changing Amazon prices or availability, and retailer commission never changes the recommendation order.
